Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview
The first month of the NFL season will bring a huge problem for the Steelers, as they will have to find a way to survive without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger was one of the two Steelers who were suspended in the offseason by Commissioner Roger Goodell. While wide receiver Santonio Holmes was traded to the New York Jets.
The comeback of strong safety Troy Polamalu will help in augmenting the defense, however Pittsburgh is going to have to hope that he makes a big difference. The defense of the team was not so fabulous last year and even though he is an excellent player, Polamalu will not be able to resolve all the problems of the team. Head Coach Mike Tomlin might become the first Pittsburg coach in decades to be on the hot seat.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have 18 to 1 odds to win the 2011 Super Bowl. LinesMaker has the Steelers as 2.5 point dogs to the Falcons in the NFL Week # 1 Lines.
