NFL Betting: Patriots Thrash Vikings

Tom Brady threw for 240 yards with a touch­down and Ben­Jarvus Green-Ellis had 17 car­ries for 112 yards with two scores to lead the New Eng­land Patri­ots to a win over the Min­nesota Vikings, 28–18, on Sunday.

Draw­ing nearly 70% of the NFL bet­ting action, the New Eng­land Patri­ots were the clear favorites against Min­nesota among Lines­Maker bet­tors. Listed at –5.5, they delighted the major­ity of bet­tors by defeat­ing the Vikings.

Brett Favre went 22-for-32 for 259 yards and an inter­cep­tion before he limped off the field in the fourth quar­ter. Patri­ots’ Myron Pryor hit Favre near the throat, which made the vet­eran signal-caller shaky and he was carted off the field.

Travaris Jackson’s one-yard touch­down pass to Nau­fahu Tahi helped in cut­ting the lead to 21–18 in the last eight min­utes; Brady brought the Pats back down the field though.

New Eng­land got an over­whelm­ing 28–18 lead in the last two min­utes on  atwo-yard touch­down run by Green-Ellis.

Bran­don caught three, includ­ing a 65-yard touch­down, for 101 yards to pace seven receivers with at least one reception.

Adrian Peter­son went for 92 yards with 25 car­ries and a score, while Percy Harvin caught six for 104 yards for the Vikings. Min­nesota (2–5) will host the Car­di­nals in Week 9.
