NFL Betting: Indianapolis Overwhelms Tennessee, Fails to Cover Point Spread

Pey­ton Man­ning threw two touch­down passes to help the Indi­anapo­lis Colts rally over the Ten­nessee Titans, 30–28, on Wednesday.

Indi­anapo­lis was very relieved by this win as they were on the verge of miss­ing the play­offs for the first time in nine years, after los­ing three con­sec­u­tive games,.  Man­ning fin­ished 25-of-35 passes for 319 yards with no inter­cep­tions in the vic­tory. Appar­ently, in the last three losses, Man­ning strug­gled with 11 inter­cep­tions, includ­ing four returned for touchdowns.

Attract­ing nearly 85% of the NFL bet­ting action, the Indi­anapo­lis Colts were the clear favorites against Ten­nessee among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the NFL bet­ting lines at –3, Indi­anapo­lis dis­ap­pointed the major­ity of bet­tors as they failed to cover the point spread.

Adam Vinatieri hit his third goal from the field with 2:55 remain­ing to put Indi­anapo­lis up by nine points. The Titans answered with a touch­down on the last play of the game, but in vain.

The Colts took a 21–0 lead in the sec­ond, as Man­ning hit Pierre Gar­con with 2 touch­down throws of 1 and 19 yards.

Ten­nessee went 21–14 in the third, while Kerry Collins hit Bo Scaife with a touch­down throw of 4-yards in the fourth period to take them to 27–21.

The Titans got another oppor­tu­nity to suc­ceed as they retrieved the ball, but missed it as they picked up a first down and punted. The Colts answered with 47-yard field goal by Vinatieri to seal the win.

With this win, the Colts have improved to 7–6 and are half game behind Jack­sonville, who will visit Indi­anapo­lis next week­end, in the AFC South. The Colts might miss the play­offs if the Jaguars are able to beat both the Raiders and Indianapolis.
