Dodgers Thump Florida

The Los Ange­les Dodgers beat the Florida Mar­lins 7–3; Cour­tesy of Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier and Casey Blake, who home­red for the Dodgers on Tuesday. Vicente Padilla restricted the Mar­lins to just two runs on six hits and hit a career-high nine in 6 innings for the win, as the Dodgers won for the sixth time in their last eight games. Rafael Fur­cal again scored three runs for the Dodgers while extend­ing his hit­ting streak to 10 games and his scor­ing streak to 12 games. CFL Season Kicks Off With a Bang

The 2010 Cana­dian Foot­ball Sea­son started off with a bang, as the Roughrid­ers rebounded from a 21 point deficit. They scored four touch­downs in the sec­ond half and two more in over­time to beat the Alou­ettes, 54–51, in what could be called as the third-highest scor­ing game in CFL’s history. Roughrider’s receiver Weston Dressler, com­ing back from a bro­ken leg that ended his 2009 sea­son, caught a 32-yard pass from Dar­ian Durant in the sec­ond over­time period; that set up his three-yard touch­down recep­tion to win the game. FIFA World Cup Enters Semi-Final Stage: Germany Set to Play Spain

FIFA World Cup 2010 is down to its last legs and the semi-final matches are set. The semi-final lineup high­lights a repeat of the Euro 2008 Finals, as Spain goes against the Ger­mans and the Nether­lands will try to get past Uruguay. In the last match, Ger­many ran riot against Argentina, by hand­ing them a 4–0 drub­bing. Klose scored 2 goals for the Ger­mans, car­ry­ing on his impres­sive run in all World Cup matches. End of a Fed-Era at Wimbledon

For the sec­ond day run­ning, the ten­nis world came to a stop with another Wim­ble­don leg­end, and arguably the best player on the planet, crash­ing out of the tournament. After Venus Williams’ sud­den exit on Tues­day, it was the turn of none other than Roger Fed­erer. Tomas Berdych, the Czech No.12 seed, who had defeated Fed­erer in Miami ear­lier this year, took him out in 4 sets, 6–4, 3–6, 6–1, 6–4. Montreal Starts as 2010 Grey Cup Favorite

The Cana­dian Foot­ball League (CFL) reg­u­lar sea­son kicks off today with the defend­ing cham­pi­ons the Mon­treal Alou­ettes going to Regina for a Grey Cup rematch against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Led by vet­eran quar­ter­back Anthony Calvillo, Mon­treal has made very lit­tle changes to an already impres­sive start­ing lineup, with depth on both sides of the ball.
