Jared Tew scored on a touch­down in the fourth to rally the Air Force Fal­cons to a 14–7 vic­tory over the Geor­gia Tech Yel­low Jack­ets on Mon­day in the Inde­pen­dence Bowl.

Draw­ing almost 60% of the NCAA foot­ball bet­ting action, the Air Force Fal­cons were the clear favorites against Geor­gia Tech among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the col­lege foot­ball bet­ting lines at –3, Air Force made the major­ity of bet­tors happy by defeat­ing the Yel­low Jackets.

Mikal Hunter recov­ered Daniel McKayhan’s fum­bled punt at Geor­gia Tech’s 14-yard line. Four plays later, Tew scored on a 3-yard run with 13:38 left in the game.

Tew’s touch­down helped Air Force to take a 12–7 lead. Throw­ing for 116 yards, Tim Jef­fer­son rushed for 27 yards for Air Force (9–4), which reg­is­tered its fourth straight win to fin­ish the season.

Tevin Wash­ing­ton rushed for 131 yards with an inter­cep­tion and lost a fum­ble for the Yel­low Jack­ets (6–7), who lost for the sixth time in a row in the post-season.
