Lance Berk­man recorded two home runs and five RBI to rally the St. Louis Car­di­nals over the Hous­ton Astros to an 11–7 win on Thursday.

Attract­ing nearly 75% of the MLB bet­ting action, the St. Louis Car­di­nals were the clear favorites against Hous­ton among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the MLB bet­ting lines at –145, St. Louis delighted the major­ity of bet­tors by defeat­ing the Astros (+136).

Eleven pitch­ers allowed 29 hits in the game. The Astros were lead­ing by 4–1 enter­ing the sixth inning, before the Car­di­nals scored 9-on –10 hits and sent 14 men to the plate.

Berk­man home­red on a three-run shot and an RBI sin­gle on his sec­ond trip to the plate in the sixth. Matt Hol­l­i­day had a two-run base hit in the sixth. Berk­man added a solo shot in the ninth.

Kyle McClel­lan (4–0) got the win despite giv­ing away eight hits and five runs over 5 2/3 innings. Fer­nando Abad (1–2) allowed four runs on three hits in the sixth with two walks for Houston.
