What You Need to Know From This Week on ‘the Ultimate Fighter’

Wel­come to week four of “The Ulti­mate Fighter.” Who wins the two fights? Will Jason “May­hem” Miller fig­ure out who the spy is on his team? Will Team Bisp­ing finally get a win? Read on for spoil­ers and the show recap.

Secret agent man of the week: John Dod­son of Team Miller clued Team Bisp­ing in that Stephen Bass is going to be in the next bout. Bisp­ing then made Bass the focus of prac­tice. Bisp­ing even gave Bass a black eye. How sweet.

Fight no. 1 announce­ment of the week — Denis Bermudez (Miller) vs. Stephen Bass (Bisp­ing): That was just as Dod­son told Bisp­ing, who didn’t even show up. His fight­ers said that they didn’t care about it so many times that it was pretty clear that they cared.

Since this is a two-fight episode, we jumped directly into the bouts.

Fight no. 1 of the week — Bermudez vs. Bass:

Round 1: Bermudez started with a hard-fought take­down, fol­lowed by unre­lent­ing ground and pound. As Bips­ing yelled, “Get up!” Bass had no response. In the final minute, Bermudez took Bass’ back and flat­tened him out. Bermudez con­tin­ued to land punch after punch while Miller yelled, “He’s breaking.”

Round 2: Bermudez started aggres­sively, tak­ing Bass down again and rain­ing down punches. Bass had one break, when he briefly caught Bermudez’s leg for a heel lock, but Bermudez got out to take him down and beat him up again. Finally, after Bermudez stretched Bass out and landed even more punches, the fight was stopped.

After­wards, Bisp­ing pointed out that his fight­ers have all lost for not lis­ten­ing to him or fol­low­ing the gameplan.

Fight announce­ment No. 2 of the week — Dustin Pague (Team Miller) vs. Louis Gaudinot (Team Bisp­ing): Once Dustin walked to the cen­ter, he pulled out a green wig to let Gaudinot know that he was in the next fight.

Finally, Miller has fig­ured out that Bisp­ing has a mole. He doesn’t know who the mole is, and doesn’t really care.

Upris­ing of the week: Bass said to Bisp­ing that he went too hard in his prac­tice, and that was a prob­lem in his fight. Bisp­ing blew up at the sug­ges­tion that the loss of his own fighter was in any way his fault.

Before their fight, Gaudinot said that the real green hair is going to win. He does real­ize that his green hair is not actu­ally green, right? That’s not a hair color found in nature.

Fight No. 2 of the week — Pague vs. Gaudinot:

Round 1: The fight started with a ton of activ­ity, as Pague used knees and a take­down, and Gaudino­tused kicks. Pague was effec­tive in the clinch, and Gaudinot threw a spin­ning kick that would have decap­i­tated Pague if it would have landed. It didn’t. In the final minute, Pague defended Gaudinot’s take­down attempt, drove him into the fence and landed sev­eral punches.

Round 2: Pague knocked Gaudinot down in the first minute, then fol­lowed him to the ground. Gaudinot worked back to his feet, but Pague made him pay for it by knock­ing him down and beat­ing him up again. As blood poured from Gaudinot’s face, Pague sunk in a tight rear naked choke and Gaudinot tapped.

Two fights, and two wins for Team Miller. That makes it 4–0 this sea­son, and no one is hap­pier about it than Miller.
