The Eclipse Stakes thor­ough­bred horse race will be held at the Wood­bine Race­track in Toronto, Ontario on Sun­day, May 12. A Grade III race, the Eclipse Stakes is con­tested by horses over four-years of age and car­ries a purse of $200,000. The race is run over a dis­tance of 1 1/16 miles (8.5 fur­longs) on syn­thetic dirt.

The race was started as the Eclipse Hand­i­cap at Toronto’s Green­wood Race­way in 1956 but was shifted to Wood­bine Race­track in 1967.
