Most peo­ple con­sider a push to be a win. If you don’t lose, you win. To win a bet when your team is favored by six, your team must win by seven. Win­ning by five is a loss.
Most of the spreads you’ll find will have a half of a point mixed in. For exam­ple, Nebraska favored over Ohio State by one and a half. There’s no chance of a push with a spread involv­ing a half of a point. You’ll either win or lose. Nebraska would have to win by at least two for you to cover your bet. You may want to take Ohio State and the points if you feel it’ll be a very close game.
At times, two teams will be so evenly matched, that there will be no spread. It’s called a “pick ‘em”. In this case, you solely pick the team you think will win. Whether the team of choice wins by one point, or forty, you’ll win the bet regard­less. Beware!! These bets can be risky. Do your research before bet­ting with your heart.
