Top Ranked Kansas Takes Down Texas

Top ranked Kansas out played Texas in every con­ceiv­able way. Mar­cus Mor­ris scored 18 points lead­ing them to an 80–68 vic­tory on Mon­day night. Kansas were 1.5 point favorites and took 60% of the bet­ting vol­ume at Lines­Maker. They held the top-scoring team in the Big 12 to 37% shoot­ing and scored 27 points off 17 turnovers.

The Long­horns had earned the first No. 1 rank­ing in the school’s his­tory ear­lier this sea­son and were the Jay­hawks biggest threat in the Big 12 but now they have lost five out of last seven games.  After a great start to the sea­son, going 17–0, the Long­horns had poten­tial to be con­tenders for national title. They now seem to have lost their momentum

In pre­sea­son polls Kansas was ranked at No. 1, they held this posi­tion for the first eight weeks of the reg­u­lar sea­son until their only loss at Ten­nessee. They have been ranked No 1 for two con­sec­u­tive weeks after being knocked off the top spot for three. They have odds of +180 to win NCAA Championship.
