Betting Favorites Nationals Beat Diamondbacks

Attract­ing over 61 % of  the bet­ting action, the Wash­ing­ton Nation­als were the clear favorites against Ari­zona with Lines­Maker bet­tors. Wash­ing­ton had bet­ting odds of –179 and they did not dis­ap­point the major­ity of bet­tors by win­ning once again over the D’backs.

Ian Desmond hit a tie-breaking sin­gle in the sev­enth frame and the Wash­ing­ton Nation­als went on to pass over the Ari­zona Dia­mond­backs 5–3 Sun­day in the rub­ber match of a three-game set at Nation­als Park.

Rookie phe­nom Stephen Stras­burg made a good start after com­ing back from injury, but was lim­ited to five innings, while allow­ing three runs on five hits. Stras­burg made an impres­sive come­back and helped the Nats to win the match, in spite of some off-field commotion.

Josh Will­ing­ham dou­bled and snapped a two-run homer, while Ryan Zimmerman’s homer in the eighth frame sealed the win. The win went to Tyler Clip­pard (9–6), who threw two score­less innings, while Drew Storen reg­is­tered his sec­ond save for the Nationals.

Arizona’s rookie Barry Enright was restricted to five innings, while yield­ing three runs on six hits. Adam LaRoche hit a homer and went 3-for-4 for Ari­zona. Jor­dan Nor­berto (0–2) was tagged with the loss of the Diamondbacks.

The Nation­als have won nine of the last 13 games against Arizona.
