New Orleans Saints NFL Betting Preview

The New Orleans Saints are proof that no mat­ter how strong a team’s offen­sive is win­ning a cham­pi­onship is all about defense. The only suc­cess they had last sea­son was with Drew Brees who threw 34 touch­downs after throw­ing over 5069 yards, but they failed to make the play­offs. Learn­ing from this the Saints have tired to improve their defense this sea­son and with one of the best offen­sives they could see some results. Unfor­tu­natley the Lines­Maker odd­s­mak­ers are not that opti­mistic with odds +1800 to win Super Bowl 2010 and a slightly more pos­i­tive +800 to win the NFC Championships.

Head coach Sean Pay­ton has his work cut out and the results this sea­son could cost him his job, he needs the Saints to make the play­offs. High hopes are placed on new defen­sive coor­di­na­tor Greg Williams to upgrade the Saints defense strength and change their mind set, he has also brought with him a few key play­ers from the Jaguars includ­ing Pier­son Pri­oleau and Paul Spicer. Whether these changes along with the addi­tion of Jonathan Vilma to improve their back­field and line can help the Saints against the mighty Atlanta and Car­olina for tops in the NFC will have to be seen.
