Ravens and Patriots Winners in NFL Preseason Openers

Com­plet­ing 8-of-12 for 120 yards and a touch­down, Joe Flacco helped the Bal­ti­more Ravens pass over the Car­olina Pan­thers 17–12 Thurs­day in the pre­sea­son opener.

After a great first series, Flacco found Mark Clay­ton in a 96-yard drive, which con­se­quently ended up in a bril­liant 30-yard TD pass.

Quar­ter­back Matt Moore of Car­olina was not able to deliver in his three pos­ses­sions. He was pushed into the lime­light after the Pan­thers dis­charged Jake Delhomme.

Jimmy Clausen, backup for Car­olina, went 8-for-15 for 80 yards and an inter­cep­tion in the loss. Both the teams will face each other on Nov. 21 in Charlotte.

Lines­Maker had the Ravens as 3 point favorites against the Pan­thers. After draw­ing nearly 66 % of the bet­ting action on their side, they def­i­nitely delighted their sup­port­ers with this win.

Else­where, Stephen Gostkowski’s 28-yard field goal in the last min­utes ral­lied the New Eng­land Patri­ots to a 27–24 vic­tory over the New Orleans Saints in the pre­sea­son opener on Thursday.

Tom Brady com­pleted 5-of-8 passes for 67 yards. Lawrence Maroney com­pleted 30 rush­ing yards and two TDs, while Randy Moss grabbed two passes, together with the one for 23 yards and the win.

Drew Brees, the Super Bowl MVP, fin­ished 9 of 13 passes for 55 yards for the New Orleans Saints. With over 53% of the bets, the Patri­ots were 1.5 point favorites against the Saints to win the pre­sea­son opener, and they sure ful­filled the expec­ta­tions of their followers.
