Bears Beat Rams but Fail to Cover

The Chicago Bears had a 17–9 vic­tory over the St Louis Rams but it’s not really any­thing to roar about. Defeat­ing the Rams isn’t a great accom­plish­ment con­sid­er­ing they are one of the NFL’s worst teams. The Bears dis­ap­pointed many Lines­Maker bet­tors how­ever, as they failed to cover the 9.5 point spread with nearly 60% of the bet­ting action on them to cover.

Quar­ter­back Jay Cut­ler proved he still could hit a long pass, con­nect­ing with Devin Hes­ter for a 48-yard com­ple­tion, and Earl Ben­nett for a season-high 71-yarder.
With line­backer Lance Briggs side­lined, fill-in Jamar Williams had 18 tack­les to lead the defense. Williams may have shown he has big­ger role in the future with Chicago, which has no first– or second-round picks in the upcom­ing draft.

The Bears did get the win but now they need to pull out another one at home against Green Bay (7–4) next week. Their play will need to improve, how­ever, as you can bet the Pack­ers will be a tougher chal­lenge than the Rams.
