Sacramento Topples NBA Betting Favorite Phoenix
Marcus Thornton hit a 3-point shot with 53.4 seconds left in regulation Tuesday to give the Sacramento Kings a 116–113 win over Phoenix.
Drawing around 70% of the NBA betting action, the Phoenix Suns were the clear favorites against Sacramento among LinesMaker bettors. With the NBA lines at –2, Phoenix failed to delight the majority of bettors as they lost to the underdog Kings.
Thornton poured in 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Kings, who won their fourth straight game.
Beno Udrih chipped in with 19 points and Donte Green contributed 18 points for Sacramento, which outscored Phoenix in the fourth quarter 31–20.
Channing Frye and Jared Dudley each pulled in 21 points for Phoenix, which is lagging behind Memphis by 4 ½ games in the Western Conference. Marcin Gortat added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns.
Thornton scored from 3-point range with less than a minute remaining in the game to help Sacramento take a 112–110 lead. Thornton and Tyreke Evans each scored on two free throws prior to Frye’s conversion on three free throws in the last 10 seconds of the game.
