NBA Betting: New Orleans Beats Utah, Fails to Cover Spread
The New Orleans Hornets posted a 121–117 victory over the Utah Jazz on Thursday, courtesy of Chris Paul who made two free throws with 7 seconds remaining in overtime.
Attracting almost 70% of the NBA betting action, the New Orleans Hornets were the clear favorites against Utah among LinesMaker bettors. With the NBA lines at –5, New Orleans disappointed the majority of bettors even after beating Utah, as they failed to cover the spread.
Emeka Okafor scored on a jumper in the final seconds of the regulation for New Orleans to force the extra period. In the overtime, the Hornets outscored Utah 16–12.
David West pulled in 29 points and Paul added 24 points with 12 rebounds for the Hornets, which made 50% shots from the field.
Paul Millsap scored 33 points to pace the Jazz, who dropped 4 1/2 games out of the final post-season spot.
