Sun Bowl Odds Excit­ing Matchups this Sea­son
The 2007 Sun Bowl odds will reflect the PAC 10 rep­re­sen­ta­tive as the favorite, but will be upset by its opponent.

The Sun Bowl, played in El Paso, Texas, has the dis­tinc­tion of being the sec­ond longest run­ning of all the bowl games. The Rose Bowl, of course, takes the top honor of being around the longest. The Brut Sun Bowl, as it is known now since it secured the afore­men­tioned cor­po­rate spon­sor­ship, has been the site of some of the more mem­o­rable games in col­lege bowl his­tory. While the Sun Bowl does not par­tic­i­pate as host on a rotat­ing basis for the BCS National Cham­pi­onship Game, the matchups in recent years have been tremen­dous and the games com­pet­i­tive and well-played. While the PAC 10 rep­re­sen­ta­tive has won the last three games, their oppo­nents through 2009 will be from either the Big 12, Big East or the Uni­ver­sity of Notre Dame. The Sun Bowl odds on these matchups pro­duc­ing excit­ing com­pe­ti­tion are good.

The Brut Sun Bowl is gen­er­ally played a few days before the New Year. It is a pop­u­lar venue and the tele­vi­sion rat­ings hold their own. There will be keen inter­est in the 2007 game with regard to the Sun Bowl odds because of the pos­si­bil­ity of an Ore­gon State– Notre Dame game. The Ducks of Ore­gon State have improved the qual­ity of their teams on the base­ball dia­mond as well as the grid­iron in recent years, but Notre Dame will defy the Sun Bowl odds and secure a hard fought victory.
