NCAA Football Betting: Pitt Coach Steps Down
According to the latest NCAA football betting news, Dave Wannstedt, Pitt’s head football coach, stepped down from his post on Tuesday afternoon.
Apparently the Pittsburgh Panthers, who were the hot favorites in the Big East entering the college football season, have slipped to 7–5. Currently, Pittsburgh has 75 to 1 odds to win the 2011 BCS national championship game at LinesMaker.
The Panthers lost at home to West Virginia and suffered a blowout by breaking their two-game lead in a season that was considered to be a better one for them.
Frank Cignetti Jr, the offensive coordinator, is going to take over for Wannstedt temporarily and will manage the team in the forthcoming BBVA Compass Bowl against Kentucky.
Having coached the Bears and Dolphins in the NFL without much success, Wannstedt went 42–31 over his six campaigns with the Panthers.
After winning 10 games in 2009, NCAA football betting fans were expecting a lot from Pittsburgh this season.
