Alan Belcher Will Sit in a Kennel to Save Puppies

Com­ing off a big win at Ulti­mate Fight Night 25, Alan Belcher could sit back and enjoy the big win, or he could sit inside a dog’s ken­nel in Mis­sis­sippi to encour­age pet adop­tions. Belcher has cho­sen to do that lat­ter. To the press release:

On Fri­day, Octo­ber 14, Alan “The Tal­ent” Belcher will be at Humane Soci­ety of South­ern Mississippi’s facil­ity on Hwy 49 to pro­mote pet adop­tion in con­junc­tion with HSSM’s efforts in the ASPCA $ 100K Chal­lenge. Belcher will be locked inside one of Humane Society’s ken­nels i.e. “the cage” and avail­able for auto­graphs and photo oppor­tu­ni­ties to adopters start­ing at 2pm. Belcher will not be released from his ken­nel until HSSM has com­pleted 50 adop­tions (or 8 p.m., whichever comes first.)

The catch is that you can get a pic­ture or auto­graph with Belcher if you adopt a pet, but that sounds like a win-win. You get to meet Belcher and you get a pet. Plus, adop­tions will be dis­counted on Oct. 14, mean­ing you can adopt a dog or a cat for less than $ 20.

Bot­tom line: Pup­pies are awe­some, and Belcher is awe­some for sit­ting in a ken­nel to advo­cate for them. Find out more about the event here.
