Azarenka, Ivanovic Through at China Open

BEIJING
Second-seeded Victoria Azarenka reached the third round of the China Open by beating Polona Hercog of Slovakia 7–6 (8), 6–3 Wednesday.
In the third round, Ana Ivanovic defeated third-seeded Vera Zvonareva 6–1, 6–1.
In the men’s tournament, Fernando Verdasco of Spain defeated Flavio Cipolla of Italy 2–6, 6–1, 6–2 and Mikhail Youzhny of Russia beat Feliciano Lopez of Spain 6–7 (5), 6–2, 7–5 in the second round.
