Teaser Bets Explained

A Teaser is a selec­tion of two or more teams in one wager in which the point spread is adjusted in your favor. The num­ber of teams selected and the num­ber of points selected deter­mines the pay­out odds. A “Tie” or “No Action” and a “Win” on a two team teaser shall con­sti­tute a “No Action” wager. A “Tie” or a “No Action” and a “Loss” on a two team teaser shall con­sti­tute a “Los­ing” wager.

Ties on a three or more team teaser shall revert to the next low­est bet­ting bracket. (Exam­ple: A tie on a three team becomes a two team teaser.)

Teaser Bet Example

An exam­ple of a teaser wager is as fol­lows. For our exam­ple, let us say you wish to choose three foot­ball teams: Den­ver –7, New York –3 and Chicago +15. The pay­out of the wager is depen­dant upon how many points you wish to receive. Let us choose a 3 team 7 point teaser. If we look at the chart below, this wager is listed as 12/10, which means we will win $12 for every $10 that we wager. The point spreads are adjusted as follows:

• Den­ver –7 plus the adjusted seven points = Even
• New York –3 plus the adjusted seven points = +4
• Chicago +15 plus the adjusted seven points = +22

There­fore, if each and every one of the three teams wins against the adjusted spread, you win $12 for every $10 you wager.

If Bets Explained

IF Win bets are great options for money man­age­ment. You bet a fixed amount on one team, if that team wins, then the same amount as your orig­i­nal bet is placed on a dif­fer­ent team of your choice.

IF Bet Example

For exam­ple: You have a 2 team IF Win Bet for $11 on the Bears and Giants. If the Bears win, you risked $11 to win $10 and now another $11 wager is placed on the Giants. If they win, then you win another $10 for a total of $20 in win­nings. If the Giants lose, then you have lost $1 because you won $10 on the Bears and you lost $11 on the Giants. If the Bears lose, then you have lost your orig­i­nal $11 and there is no bet on the Giants.

The first wager has to win for you to have action on the remain­ing wagers. If the first wager loses, there is No Action there­after. Place 2 to 7 teams in an IF Win bet.

How is an If Action Bet Different?

The sim­ple dif­fer­ence between an IF Win bet and an IF Action bet is in an IF Win bet the first wager has to WIN for the next wager to have action. In an IF Action bet each wager must WIN or PUSH (tie) for the next wager to have action. The PUSH (tie) would result in nei­ther a win nor a loss for you on that par­tic­u­lar game and we would con­tinue on to the next wager in your bet, whereas, in an IF Win bet the bet would have been stopped at the Push.
