How to Place a Sports Bet

Within dif­fer­ent sports there are dif­fer­ent ways to place wagers. For exam­ple, Hockey is dif­fer­ent than Base­ball and Euro­pean sports are dif­fer­ent from North Amer­i­can sports. With that in mind, we’ve cre­ated a basic out­line for bet­ting on all sports types:

First, choose the sport you wish to bet on. Next, click on the pull-down menu that says “Select A Bet Type” and choose which kind of bet you want to place. Then select your wager amount and enter it into the wager box beside the pull-down menu. Now scroll through the avail­able games and choose the team or teams you wish to wager on. Select your team by click­ing on the small box beside the line or the line itself. If you are mak­ing a com­bi­na­tion bet, known as a par­lay or teaser bet, you must choose as many teams as nec­es­sary to com­plete the mul­ti­ple team bet. The type of bet you choose deter­mines the num­ber of teams necessary.

When you are sure of your selec­tion, go to the top and click the “Place Bet” but­ton. Your wager has now been placed on the right side of the screen. This is your sports bet­ting ticket. If you try to place a bet and a red bar comes up on your bet­ting ticket you have made a mis­take in select­ing your bet. The red bar will con­tain a mes­sage to inform you of the error and give you appro­pri­ate instruc­tions on how to cor­rect the mistake.

You will need to reload or refresh your page before sub­mit­ting your bet­ting ticket so you can see the most cur­rent lines. The lines change often and quickly, so make sure the lines are where you want them before sub­mit­ting your bet­ting ticket. If one or more of the wagers on your bet­ting ticket are not what you want, just click the “Can­cel” or “Can­cel All” but­ton and the wagers will be dropped from your bet­ting ticket. Once you are com­pletely sat­is­fied with the wager you have made, go to the bot­tom of the bet­ting ticket and selects the con­fir­ma­tion box and then click on the “Sub­mit” but­ton. Your wager has now been sub­mit­ted. A con­fir­ma­tion notice will appear and you can view your wagers in the “Pend­ing Wagers” section.
