Buying Point Explained

Points can be bought in foot­ball for the com­plete game only. They can be bought for point spreads and totals. For every half point bought the charge will be 10 cents, except for NFL sides when buy­ing on or off the num­ber 3, in which case there will be an addi­tional 10 cent charge.

If the cur­rent line for Raiders is — 4, and you buy 1 point, the final line will be Raiders –3, yet, because the adjusted line is 3 you must lay –130 plus an extra 10 cents, so the 49ers –3 buy­ing 1 point will cost you $140 to win $100.

A player can buy ½ points up to a total of 3 points (or 6 half points) by lay­ing an addi­tional 10 cents per ½ point.

Exam­ple: If the cur­rent line for the Patri­ots is — 4, and you buy 1 point, the final line will be Patri­ots –3, but because the adjusted line is 3 you must lay –130 plus an extra 10 cents, so the 49ers –3 buy­ing 1 point will cost you $140 to win $100.
