NFL Preseason: New England Bested Atlanta

Tom Brady fin­ished 10-of-12 passes for 85 yards, as the New Eng­land Patri­ots posted a 28–10 NFL pre­sea­son win over Atlanta on Thursday.

The 4-yard scor­ing pass thrown by Brady to Aaron Her­nan­dez early in the sec­ond quar­ter helped the Patri­ots grab a 14–3 lead. Fol­low­ing the Falcon’s score on Matt Bryant’s 46-yard field goal, New Eng­land ran off 28 straight points.

With 3:15 left in the open­ing period, Fred Tay­lor made a 28-yard touch­down run to help New Eng­land take the lead. Run­ning 20 yards, Sammy Mor­ris scored in the third period. The New Eng­land offense was com­pleted by Brian Hoyer’s 24-yard touch­down throw to Rob Gronkowski.

The New Eng­land Patri­ots have emerged vic­to­ri­ous in both their pre-season games.

Michael Turner achieved 32 yards on eight car­ries for Atlanta (1–1), while Matt Ryan went 8-of-13 for 76 yards.

Inter­est­ingly, the New Eng­land Patri­ots were 3 point dogs to Atlanta in the NFL Pre­sea­son lines for this game. How­ever, the Patri­ots drew almost 51 % of the bet­ting action on ATS, and they cer­tainly did not dis­ap­point their supporters.
