The Chicago Bears routed the injury-ravaged Miami Dol­phins 16–0 Thurs­day, as Matt Forte scored the game’s only touchdown.

Attract­ing nearly 55% of the NFL bet­ting action, the Miami Dol­phins were the favorites against Chicago among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the bet­ting lines at –2.5, Miami dis­ap­pointed bet­tors by los­ing to the Bears.

Matt Forte com­pleted 97 yards on 25 car­ries, while Rob­bie Gould kicked three field goals in the win. Jay Cut­ler com­pleted 16-of-25 for 156 yards with one inter­cep­tion for the Bears (7–3).

The Chicago Defense allowed only 187 yards and a sin­gle third-down conversion.

Third-string quar­ter­back Tyler Thig­pen threw 17-of-29 passes for 187 yards with one inter­cep­tion, to pace the offen­sively chal­lenged Dolphins.

Thig­pen was called in after Miami’s top two quar­ter­backs, Chad Pen­ning­ton and Chad Henne, were both injured in Sunday’s win over Ten­nessee. Thig­pen was sacked six times in the game that marked his first NFL start since 2008, and lead rusher with 27 yards for the Dol­phins (5–5).

Improv­ing to 7–3, Chicago took a half-game lead in the NFC North over Green Bay. On the other hand, Miami dropped 2 1/2 games behind New Eng­land and the Jets in the AFC East.
