Kellen Moore: No QB Will Be More Motivated Than Me

Detroit (NFL/Newsfeed) –Kellen Moore learned over the week­end that col­lege suc­cess doesn’t always trans­late to NFL inter­est. The Boise State prod­uct won a record 50 games dur­ing his col­lege career, but he was with­out an NFL job until the Detroit Lions picked him up as an undrafted free agent.

Moore’s fall from grace hasn’t dimin­ished reader inter­est in him. He was the most pop­u­lar search item on NFL.com Sun­day. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com broke the news about Moore’s arrival in Detroit, and gained roughly 600 fol­low­ers on Twit­ter imme­di­ately thereafter.

While the draft didn’t go as planned, Moore spun things pos­i­tively after learn­ing his new team.

“Very frus­trat­ing process, but a great out­come in the end,” Moore told the Idaho States­man, via the Detroit Free Press. “Going into it, you felt very com­fort­able and con­fi­dent that you’d get an oppor­tu­nity to get drafted. Bot­tom line is, it didn’t hap­pen. But it’s kind of funny you end up where you’d love to go in the first place.”

Moore has become a bit of a hot-button topic. Peter King of SI.com was incred­u­lous that Moore went undrafted. In the video embed­ded in this post, NFL Net­work draft ana­lyst Mike May­ock said Moore’s skill set doesn’t look “draftable.” There is some spec­u­la­tion that he could be a coach before long. That type of talk is only going to fuel Moore.

“I don’t think there will prob­a­bly be a more moti­vated quar­ter­back,” Moore said.
