Stewart and Kenseth Claim Gatorade Duel Wins at LinesMaker

Today’s action in Day­tona fea­tured the final step in the 2012 Day­tona 500 qual­i­fy­ing process. While the two Gatorade Duel at Day­tona races com­bined to solid­ify the lineup for Sunday’s Day­tona 500 the two races could not have been more different.

The first Duel saw mul­ti­ple crashes includ­ing a last lap big hit for Dan­ica Patrick which awarded Tony Stew­art the vic­tory under cau­tion. The sec­ond Duel fea­tured all green flag rac­ing and a mad last-lap scram­ble with Matt Kenseth block­ing three lanes of con­tenders to hold on for the win.

What does this mean for Sunday’s Day­tona 500? Will we see the crazi­ness of Saturday’s Bud­weiser Shootout and the first Duel or will it be tame like the sec­ond Duel with a mad scram­ble at the fin­ish? Only time will tell.
