Today’s action in Daytona featured the final step in the 2012 Daytona 500 qualifying process. While the two Gatorade Duel at Daytona races combined to solidify the lineup for Sunday’s Daytona 500 the two races could not have been more different.
The first Duel saw multiple crashes including a last lap big hit for Danica Patrick which awarded Tony Stewart the victory under caution. The second Duel featured all green flag racing and a mad last-lap scramble with Matt Kenseth blocking three lanes of contenders to hold on for the win.
What does this mean for Sunday’s Daytona 500? Will we see the craziness of Saturday’s Budweiser Shootout and the first Duel or will it be tame like the second Duel with a mad scramble at the finish? Only time will tell.
