Considering Track Condition in Horse Betting
Many bettors rely on the predictions made by professional handicappers when choosing the races in horse betting. It is however important that you use your common sense when making a pick and avoid betting on every single race. When making your selection, you need to consider certain aspects like performance and form of horse, trainer/jockey change, medication change, track condition, turf vs. dirt, layoffs etc. By analyzing all these factors, one can make a successful bet, on both live races as well as off track betting.
Track condition is among the most important yet most neglected aspect. Certain horses like to run on dry track while others prefer to run on a wet track. This aspect is applicable on both dirt and the turf. The turf horse race tracks in Europe are usually soft and for this reason European horses are not that great when they have to run on firm course in the States. To determine whether a horse prefers an off track, you should check the Wet record of the horse or see the past performances of the horse on a wet track. You should also analyze turf races for the dirt to check the current conditions.
