Carl Gun­nars­son scored the deci­sive goal in the third period on Tues­day in the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 4–2 past­ing of San Jose.

Draw­ing almost 65% of the NHL bet­ting action, the San Jose Sharks were the clear favorites against Toronto among Lines­Maker bet­tors. Hav­ing –199 NHL odds, San Jose dis­ap­pointed the major­ity of bet­tors by los­ing to the Maple Leafs (+182).

Gun­nars­son had a tip-in goal with 9:50 remain­ing in reg­u­la­tion, break­ing a 2–2 tie as Toronto clutched its fifth win in six games. This game marked the 600th career vic­tory of Toronto Coach Ron Wilson.

Clark MacArthur chipped in with two goals and Phil Kessel added another one for the Maple Leafs.  James Reimer made 40 saves for Toronto.

Patrick Mar­leau accounted for both of the Sharks goals. Antti Niemi gave up three goals on 25 shots for San Jose, which lost fifth con­sec­u­tive game.

The Sharks led the game in the first period 1–0, on Marleau’s goal. Kessel con­nected on a wrist shot 3:27 in the third period to tie the game 1–1.

MacArthur helped the Maple Leafs to take a lead with a goal 7:30 of the third stanza. How­ever, Mar­leau net­ted another goal a minute later to tie the game. Gun­nars­son had a goal to help Toronto take the lead and also had another insur­ance goal in the final seconds.
