The Edmon­ton Oiler top­pled over the Mon­treal Cana­di­ens 4–1 Thurs­day, cour­tesy of Jor­dan Eberle who scored three goals in third with a go-ahead score.

Attract­ing nearly 70% of the NHL bet­ting action, the Mon­treal Cana­di­ens were the clear favorites against Edmon­ton among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the NHL lines at –130, Mon­treal failed to delight the major­ity of bet­tors as they lost to the Oil­ers (+120).

Ales Hem­sky scored the first of his two goals in the open­ing period, but Mon­treal tied it in the sec­ond on a score from Jeff Halpern.

Eberle scored on a wrist shot 3:58 into the final stanza to lead the Oil­ers, who won in a row for the first time after they ended their four-game win­ning streak on Decem­ber 4. Ryan Jones net­ted another third period goal just 15 sec­onds later for Edmonton.

Hem­sky found an empty net in the last 54 sec­onds to seal the win. Niko­lai Khabibu­lin pre­vented 36-of-37 shots for Edmonton.

Carey Price gave up three goals on 27 shots for the Cana­di­ens, who faced set­back in five out of six games played.
