Chicago Tops Minnesota in NHL Betting Action

The Chicago Black­hawks posted a 4–2 win over the Min­nesota Wild on Mon­day, cour­tesy of Jonathan Toews who net­ted a goal and had a pair of assists.

Attract­ing nearly 65% of the NHL bet­ting action, the Chicago Black­hawks were the clear favorites against Min­nesota among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the NHL lines at –113, Chicago lived up to the expec­ta­tions of the major­ity of bet­tors as the rolled past over the Wild (+104).

Toews scored to cap a three-goal out­break in the sec­ond when Chicago got goals from Tomas Kopecky and Patrick Sharp. Toews assisted Mar­ian Hossa on a 2-on-1 rush as Hossa scored a short­handed goal with less than 2 min­utes left in the game.

Corey Craw­ford blocked 24-of-26 shot for the Black­hawks, who claimed their fifth con­sec­u­tive win and strength­ened West­ern Con­fer­ence play­off bid.  Enter­ing the game with 72 points tie, both Min­nesota and Chicago were hold­ing the sev­enth and eighth posi­tion in West­ern Con­fer­ence, apiece.

Mar­tin Havlat and Brett Burns net­ted goals in the third period for the Wild, who lost two out of nine games on the home turf. Nick­las Back­strom pre­vented 30-of-34 shots for Minnesota.
