There are a lot of golfers out there whose idea of warming up before the start of a round of golf is to dash from their car to the restroom to the pro shop to pay and to the first tee, all in the space of five minutes. In other words, a lot of golfers don’t warm up at all outside of a few practice swings on the first tee.
And those golfers aren’t necessarily doing anything wrong. Golf takes a lot of time to play, after all – do you really need to show up an hour before teeing off in order to warm up properly?
Not if you don’t care about score. (And not if you simply don’t have time for a proper warmup.)
But if you do care about score, then taking your time to go through a structured, leisurely warmup will probably help get your round off to a better start.
