By John Hanna KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Uni­ver­sity of Missouri’s gov­ern­ing board opened a two-day meet­ing Thurs­day amid spec­u­la­tion that the uni­ver­sity is close to leav­ing the Big 12 Con­fer­ence for the SEC. BEAUMONT, Texas—Lamar is look­ing into whether new bas­ket­ball coach Pat Knight vio­lated an NCAA rule by allow­ing two recruits to speak with his father, for­mer Indi­ana coach Bob Knight.
