Martin Loses Comeback Fight After Breaking Hand at BetLM

LOS ANGELES —Christy Mar­tin returned to the ring six months after she
was left for dead fol­low­ing a bru­tal attack, los­ing to Dakota Stone after
break­ing her right hand.

Mar­tin was win­ning on all three score­cards Sat­ur­day night at Sta­ples Cen­ter
when the ring doc­tor stopped the fight at 1:09 of the sixth and final round.

Jim Mar­tin, her hus­band and long­time trainer, is charged with attempted
first-degree mur­der and aggra­vated bat­tery for the attack on Mar­tin on Nov. 23
at their home in Orlando, Fla. His trail is sched­uled for October.

Mar­tin had told him that she was leav­ing him for another woman.

“The Coal Miner’s Daugh­ter” con­tin­ues to bat­tle emo­tional scars but
recov­ered quickly enough phys­i­cally to sched­ule a fight for April. She pulled
out because of a rib injury.
