Matt Kenseth Picks Up Charlotte Chase Win
Matt Kenseth had the best car at the end of tonight’s 2011 Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.Kenseth beat Kyle Busch on the final restart and pulled away steadily in the closing laps to claim the win and move up to third in points.
Carl Edwards finished third to maintain his point lead over Kevin Harvick as the 2011 Chase for the Cup reached the halfway point.
The big story of the night was Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie crashed hard late in tonight’srace and finished deep in the pack.Johnson’s 34th place result cost him five spots in points and puts his drive for Championship number six in serious jeopardy.
