In our con­tin­u­ing series on NFL team bet­ting pre­views we look at the Philadel­phia Eagles.

Fol­low­ing the move of Dono­van McN­abb out of Philly, the des­tiny of the Eagle’s now in the hands of quar­ter­back Kevin Kolb, who is a for­mer sec­ond round draft pick out of Hous­ton.  He will be under tremen­dous pres­sure to rise up to the high expec­ta­tions of every­one, given that Philadelphia’s fans will not set­tle for a sea­son of rebuild­ing notwith­stand­ing the real­ity that over the last three years the old sec­ondary is gone and the offense is exhausted.

Kolb’s per­for­mance will also have a sub­stan­tial influ­ence in the future of head coach Andy Reid, as a poor per­for­mance can effec­tively end his career as a coach in the NFL. This year is an extremely tough sched­ule for the Eagles, and most prob­a­bly the final out­come will be a huge step back from recent years’ play­off runs.

Philadel­phia meets the Pack­ers in the first game of their 2010 NFL sea­son and the bet­ting line is cur­rently a pick’em. Currently, the Eagles are listed at +2000 at Lines­Maker to win the 2011 Super Bowl.
